Weekend Reading: June 01 2008 (#)
Howdy! In order to receive more useful posts like this, you can subscribe to RSS feed or get latest articles to your email inbox for free. Thanks for visiting this blog, and have a good day.
Welcome to the first edition of Weekend Reading links. Below, you will find useful and relevant links for topics like blogging, SEO and WordPress:
- Michael Martin at Pro Blog Design calls for a less colorful web. The points expressed are very valid - that the web has too many flashy websites with every color on the palette and jazzed up gradients.
- Matt Cutts tells us how Google alerts webmasters of potential hacked websites, along with a real-life example. Take-away point: Keep an eye on your Webmasters account regularly for alerts. Webmaster Central is the best place for receiving reports. Speaking of which, I need to check it too, yikes :)
- Noupe has come out with (yet another) large resource list, this time a list of 35 useful WordPress plugins. I usually hate and do not link out to such posts, but this one contains some unknown plugins worth a look (for example, Delink comment author, WP PNG fix, Devowelizer and WP Lightform).
- Michael Martine (not Michael Martin of Pro Blog Design) lays down the gauntlet on why most bloggers are big hypocrites. While I cannot say that I have never been a hypocrite, I have reduced hypocrisy to such an extent that it is insignificant. What next? Eliminate it, of course. Ah, the dreams ;)

@Michael: You’re welcome, and keep writing those great posts at a better pace if possible - the lack of posts at ProBlogDesign every week almost worries me :)
